Lead AI Engineer – Machine Learning

About the role

EPAM is looking for a Lead AI Engineer to drive the design and deployment of advanced neural network solutions on specialized AI hardware. You will work with a multidisciplinary team that spans compilers, neural network research, LLMs, and CNNs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and iterate on neural network architectures using PyTorch to meet performance targets.
• Train, validate, and fine‑tune machine‑learning models on diverse datasets, ensuring high accuracy and robustness.
• Investigate and troubleshoot model performance issues, continuously improving results.
• Analyze how models map onto Tenstorrent devices through compilation steps and kernel optimization.
• Identify functional and performance gaps, proposing innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams working on compilers, LLMs, and CNNs.
• Deploy neural networks for various applications, guaranteeing scalability and reliability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in machine learning and AI engineering.
• At least 1 year of leadership experience in a technical team.
• Strong proficiency in Python and hands‑on experience with PyTorch.
• Proven ability to design, train, and deploy neural networks for real‑world tasks.
• Solid understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Experience troubleshooting model performance and mapping models onto AI accelerators.
• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level or higher).
