Principal Database Analyst

About the role

GDIT is seeking a Principal Database Analyst to deliver actionable insights and manage enterprise Microsoft SQL services for mission‑critical clients. You will design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the development and delivery of database projects.
• Analyze customer requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Define database standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.
• Design, develop, build, evaluate, install, and administer DBMS, including modeling, relational architecture, metadata, and repository configuration.
• Perform clustering, backup, restoration, performance tuning, and security management.
• Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process designs throughout implementation.
• Provide technical consulting and deliver presentations on DBMS concepts.
• Plan and budget staff and database resources, reallocating as needed.
• Supervise support staff and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s with eight years experience acceptable).
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience in database architecture, implementation, and management.
