Senior Network Engineer – Principal

About the role

The Senior Network Engineer – Principal will act as the technical authority for enterprise network infrastructure, translating long‑term mission requirements into secure, scalable designs while leading deployment and automation efforts. This high‑impact position blends strategic network architecture with hands‑on engineering for critical government projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end logical and physical network topologies, routing schemes, and traffic‑engineering strategies.
• Lead configuration, deployment, and optimization of backbone routers, multilayer switches, next‑generation firewalls, and application delivery controllers.
• Develop and maintain production‑grade automation scripts and playbooks using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex network modifications, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers and advise executive leadership on emerging networking technologies.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to enforce defense‑in‑depth architectures and ensure compliance with security frameworks.
• Analyze telemetry data to monitor capacity, plan expansions, and evaluate vendor solutions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in network engineering and systems integration.
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Proven ability to design and implement SD‑WAN, Zero Trust, and cloud/hybrid network solutions.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
