Senior Windows Systems Engineer / Administrator

About the role

GDIT is seeking a Senior Windows Systems Engineer/Administrator to support USAREUR-AF G6 mission-critical applications. You will engineer, maintain, and modernize identity, credential, and access management (ICAM) infrastructure across hybrid environments, driving automation and secure access.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) and ICAM services.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure high‑availability of federation services for DoWIN applications.
• Coordinate changes with identity and directory teams across the enterprise.
• Engineer integration solutions with enterprise ICAM providers and design application onboarding to centralized authentication.
• Develop technical designs, configuration standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with application owners and security stakeholders to ensure policy compliance.
• Manage an on‑premises DevSecOps platform, including repository creation, pipeline configuration, and agent deployment.
• Partner with development and operations teams to streamline CI/CD workflows and increase automation coverage.
• Implement controls for secure code management, branching strategies, and auditability.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Microsoft Desired State Configuration or similar tools.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance (currently Secret required).
• 5+ years of experience in Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
• Hands‑on experience with AD FS and Azure DevOps.
• Strong commitment to secure, reliable, and automated solutions supporting DoWIN environments.
