Senior/Lead SAP IS Retail Master Data Functional Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SAP IS Retail Senior Functional Consultant to lead solution design, system enhancements, and end‑to‑end project delivery. The role bridges business needs and technology, translating complex requirements into scalable SAP solutions and coordinating with offshore development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into advanced capabilities using best‑in‑class standard SAP packages.
• Identify required localisations or enhancements and build clear business cases.
• Create functional requirements and detailed WRICEF specifications to guide design and development.
• Configure the system, propose solutions and ensure alignment with technical teams.
• Coordinate with offshore developers to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct unit and functional testing, support integration and user‑acceptance testing.
• Deliver scalable, sustainable business solutions across multiple formats, channels, countries and models.
• Support change‑management initiatives, provide training content and assist organisational transformation.
• Provide 3rd‑level functional support and application administration for European operating companies.
• Collaborate with peers across applications to ensure seamless integration.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience implementing SAP applications, with at least 7 years focused on SAP IS Retail.
• Deep knowledge of SAP IS Retail master‑data processes (articles, sites, customers, vendors, pricing conditions, hierarchies, etc.).
• Proven ability to define business requirements, manage change and handle escalations.
• Strong track record delivering high‑quality SAP solutions for complex business scenarios.
