Senior Account Manager, Aerospace & Defense

About the role

RTI International is seeking a Senior Account Manager to lead sales of its Connext DDS software and related services to aerospace and defense customers across the West territory, with a particular focus on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The role combines technical expertise with a strong sales acumen to expand the customer base and deepen existing relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Present and sell Connext DDS software and engineering services to current and prospective customers in the assigned region.
• Proactively generate new business in the UAS market through prospecting, cold‑calling, networking, and trade‑show participation.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct onsite meetings to understand customers' technical and business challenges.
• Collaborate with RTI Engineering and Product & Markets teams to design tailored software solutions.
• Communicate with decision‑makers and influencers, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Work with the Services team to onboard and integrate new customers while nurturing existing accounts.
• Manage the full sales cycle—from lead qualification to closing—and consistently exceed quota.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience selling high‑end software solutions to product development teams.
• Established network and expertise in the aerospace and defense sector, preferably with UAS exposure.
• Track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets in a technical sales environment.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
