Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Lead AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure across multiple customers and projects. You will set the technical direction for automation, CI/CD, and IaC while mentoring a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute CI/CD strategy for several applications, championing automation‑first practices.
• Lead large‑scale cloud migration initiatives, balancing cost, performance and risk.
• Architect, build and maintain secure, scalable, highly‑available AWS environments.
• Establish and evolve Infrastructure‑as‑Code standards using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Act as escalation point for CI/CD pipelines and IaC issues, providing hands‑on guidance.
• Design cloud monitoring, observability and cost‑optimisation strategies.
• Own end‑to‑end release processes ensuring reliable continuous delivery.
• Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews and support professional growth.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience operating production AWS systems, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong background in designing and operating Kubernetes (EKS) at scale.
• Proven ability to drive cloud migration and large‑scale automation projects.

• AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, VPC, CloudFormation, IAM, Route 53, Direct Connect, Load Balancer, API Gateway, Security Groups.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation.
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline.
• Monitoring/observability: CloudWatch, DataDog, Prometheus.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes (EKS).
• Scripting: Python, Bash/Shell.
• Cloud security best practices and cost‑management tools.
