Lead AWS DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead AWS DevOps Engineer to drive automation, scalability and reliability across our large‑scale enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with development, operations and infrastructure teams to modernise our cloud platform and CI/CD processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure delivery using Git, GitLab, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy.
• Develop and manage AWS cloud solutions with a focus on automation, security, scalability and high availability.
• Implement and evolve infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Create and maintain scripts in Bash, Shell and Python to streamline deployment and operational workflows.
• Ensure source control best practices and support build/release processes.
• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to define deployment, monitoring and reliability standards.
• Lead initiatives for tooling improvements, platform upgrades and DevOps best‑practice adoption.
• Maintain alignment with AWS security best practices, including IAM roles, policies and security groups.
• Provide networking support for both AWS and on‑premises environments and troubleshoot operational incidents.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS DevOps practices and cloud‑based delivery.
• Proven track record designing and operating CI/CD pipelines at scale.
• Strong background in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and Linux/Unix administration.
• Deep understanding of AWS security, IAM, networking and access‑control concepts.
• Excellent scripting abilities in Bash/Shell, Python and SQL; exposure to Perl is a plus.
• Experience with configuration management/orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Rundeck.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
