Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer

About the role

We are looking for experienced Senior DevOps/Platform Engineers to join a client’s Platform Operations & Engineering team. You will drive modernization initiatives for point‑of‑sale (POS) systems deployed at edge locations, ensuring high availability, security, and observability across a distributed infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Implement infrastructure enhancements on edge sites using Oracle Linux, Docker, Kubernetes (K8s/K3s), Helm, Kustomize and Ansible.
• Deploy and maintain containerised applications in distributed edge environments.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitHub Actions and ArgoCD, applying GitOps principles.
• Set up automated testing, security scanning and deployment processes.
• Configure observability stack – FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and Grafana – and create dashboards, alerts and incident‑response support.
• Develop platform tools, scripts and automation to assist development teams.
• Collaborate with Systems Architects and agile development teams to translate designs into production‑ready solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on Linux administration (Oracle Linux preferred), Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) and GitOps workflows.
• Strong background in observability tools such as FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
• Solid scripting skills in Bash and Python, with a focus on automation.
• Understanding of edge computing, distributed infrastructure challenges and high‑availability design.
• Experience in retail/POS environments is highly preferred.
• Good communication, problem‑solving and mentoring abilities within cross‑functional agile teams.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
