Senior Python Engineer with Spark

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Senior Python Engineer with strong Spark expertise to join its financial data and analytics team. You will design, build, and maintain robust data processing software within a medallion architecture on Databricks, leveraging Microsoft Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Python applications for large‑scale data processing using Apache Spark.
• Implement end‑to‑end data pipelines in Databricks on Azure, following medallion architecture principles.
• Apply software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional Python development experience.
• Solid understanding of Apache Spark and its practical applications.
• Proficiency in data modeling and SQL for efficient data processing.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks on Microsoft Azure.
• Ability to work across all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Professional English proficiency (B2+).
