Tactical Data Link Architecture & Integration Engineer

About the role

The Tactical Data Link (TDL) Architecture & Integration Engineer designs, documents, and evolves the theater‑wide TDL enterprise architecture that supports Command and Control (C2) systems. Acting as the technical authority, the engineer ensures reliable data transport from tactical networks to operational decision‑making platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain architecture diagrams illustrating tactical data flow across mission systems.
• Document JREAP‑C connectivity, logical interfaces, and TDL network topology.
• Identify authoritative data sources, publishers, subscribers, and consumers within the tactical data enterprise.
• Create future‑state architectures for new C2 capabilities, mission applications, and AI‑enabled systems.
• Analyze operational impact of adding, modifying, or removing TDL‑connected nodes.
• Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), connectivity matrices, and system interface documentation.
• Coordinate with government, contractor, and operational stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of tactical data exchange architectures.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical interchange meetings, and modernization planning efforts.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain).
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, network integration, and enterprise architecture.
• Deep knowledge of Tactical Data Links (Link 16, Link 11) and JREAP‑C transport concepts.
• Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑6016, MIL‑STD‑3011, Common Operational Picture (COP) concepts, and GCCS‑J theater C2 architectures.
