Chemical Specialist Launch Team

About the role

Ball, a manufacturer of sustainable aluminium packaging, is hiring a Process Expert for its Chemical Specialist Launch Team. The role supports start-ups, new line installations and line conversions across the EMEA region, driving performance, process stability and operational excellence in chemical processing areas while working closely with plant teams and project stakeholders. It requires deep hands-on experience in can manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process performance and optimization during start-ups, new builds and line conversions
• Perform specialized process and chemical adjustments to improve efficiency, quality and environmental performance
• Drive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex process and equipment issues
• Provide technical leadership for reliable operation of front-end processing equipment
• Train and coach site teams in process understanding, performance standards and autonomous operation
• Support emergency breakdown recovery, size conversions and capability building across manufacturing sites
• Identify waste reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement and preventive maintenance

Required profile

• Proven can manufacturing experience, including at least 3 years as a CPO or CPMD
• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline is an advantage
• Experience supporting line launches, rebuilds or conversion projects is preferred
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel extensively

Required skills

• Hands-on expertise with washers, wastewater treatment systems, soluble oil systems, filtration systems and cooling towers
• Equipment setup, troubleshooting, process optimization and chemical process control
• Ability to train, coach and transfer technical knowledge; Train-the-Trainer certification is advantageous
• Analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset

What we offer

• Hiring range of 40,500 to 58,320 EUR gross per year, depending on education, experience and market conditions
