Communications Assistant – Visual Design & Production

About the role

The Communications Assistant will support the church’s creative team by handling visual design projects, print production, photography, and web assets. This position works closely with the Graphic Designer and ministry leaders to ensure all communications are clear, attractive, and on‑brand.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Graphic Designer to generate fresh design concepts for print, digital, and signage materials.
• Create visual designs for requests from ministry leaders, adhering to brand guidelines and deadlines.
• Assist with weekly communications tasks such as printing bulletins, setting up signage, and distributing emails.
• Provide input throughout the design process, from concept to final delivery.
• Serve as a backup for production roles, including lyric preparation and camera operation.

Required profile

• Affirm East Cooper Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith and be willing to become a member.
• At least 1 year of design experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; photography experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets).
• Strategic, detail‑oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communicator, collaborative team player, and servant‑hearted.
