Generator & HVAC Technician (EPP III)

About the role

The Generator and HVAC Technician provides on‑site technical support for military and commercial power generation and climate control equipment across the U.S. Army Worldwide Field Support contract. The role involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of generators ranging from 3 kW to 150 kW and associated HVAC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair on 3 kW‑150 kW generators (50/60/400 Hz) and UPS equipment.
• Install, remove, and overhaul generators in both fixed and mobile locations.
• Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical systems, electronic control modules, and wiring.
• Service HVAC units, chillers, and environmental control units, including trailer‑mounted systems.
• Operate load banks for testing and fabricate wire harnesses with soldered terminals.
• Work in generator shop and field environments, adhering to safety and security requirements.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Valid U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity), driver’s license and international driver’s permit.
• 7 + years of experience with diesel generators, HVAC, and related power systems.
• High school diploma; higher education acceptable but not required.

Required skills

• Extensive diesel generator experience, including parallel systems and switchgear.
• Knowledge of copper‑tube brazing and refrigerant evacuation/recharge.
• Load bank operation and testing.
• Wire‑harness fabrication and soldering.
• Maintenance of HVAC, chillers, and environmental control units.
• Preventive maintenance of AC, DC, and electronic control systems.
