Head of People & Culture

About the role

Accion, a global nonprofit focused on financial inclusion, has grown in complexity and is integrating multiple entities worldwide. The organization is seeking an experienced Head of People & Culture to shape and advance its global people strategy, driving organizational performance, mission impact, and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to align People & Culture approaches with global growth strategy, ensuring equitable and locally responsive practices across a 180‑person international workforce.
• Design and champion a compelling global employee value proposition, balancing consistent employee experience with local legal, cultural, and business requirements.
• Lead talent management, performance management, and total rewards programs to attract, develop, and retain high‑performing talent aligned with Accion’s mission.
• Modernize HR policies, processes, and technology, leveraging AI and automation to improve efficiency and capability across People operations.
• Oversee risk and employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws worldwide and managing international employment models, including Employer of Record arrangements.
• Foster a One Accion culture by driving engagement, communication, and learning initiatives that promote accountability, equity, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior leadership of global people functions in complex, mission‑driven organizations.
• Proven ability to support subsidiaries and teams across multiple countries, with experience in regions such as India, Colombia, and Singapore considered a plus.
• Background in both nonprofit (501(c)(3)) and financial services or investment environments, demonstrating understanding of diverse regulatory contexts.
• Expertise in organizational design, leadership development, talent strategy, total rewards, change management, and modern HR technology implementation.
• Track record of building high‑performing teams, talent pipelines, succession plans, and leveraging AI‑enabled solutions to enhance HR processes.
