Senior Data Software Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a practical and skilled Senior Data Software Engineer with strong expertise in Apache Spark and large‑scale distributed computing. You will own the full data infrastructure lifecycle, from building ingestion solutions to ensuring pipelines remain reliable and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data ingestion solutions and pipelines using cloud‑native and big‑data technologies.
• Manage the entire technical stack, including configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
• Create and maintain scalable pipelines for effective data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and data architects to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Lead code reviews and testing to ensure compliance with standards, quality checkpoints, and SDLC best practices.
• Produce and keep up‑to‑date technical documentation for data engineering initiatives.
• Identify and resolve data‑related issues promptly, delivering high‑quality, dependable solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in data software engineering focusing on large‑scale distributed systems.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark, Kafka, and Airflow.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Self‑driven, able to manage multiple projects efficiently.
• English proficiency at B2+ level.
