Civil Engineer – Climate Change Mitigation (Transport) Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a senior civil engineer to lead climate-change mitigation activities within a donor-funded road transport decarbonisation programme across Central Asia. The specialist will work with APlusS Consult GmbH’s multidisciplinary team to provide technical planning, implementation management and capacity-building support for sustainable transport assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review technical designs for low‑carbon road transport projects.
• Coordinate implementation activities and monitor progress against project milestones.
• Provide capacity‑building and training to local institutions to ensure long‑term operation and maintenance.
• Support data collection and analysis related to emissions reduction and climate impact.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for donor compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil engineering, preferably in transport infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in climate‑change mitigation or low‑carbon transport projects.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Willingness to work on a contract basis for up to four months in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan.
