Director, Platform Engineering

About the role

SingleStore is looking for a Director of Platform Engineering to lead the teams that build and operate the internal engineering platforms, infrastructure services, and developer experience. You will shape the strategy, reliability, security, and scalability of the systems that enable engineers to develop, test, and deploy software at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Platform Engineering organization responsible for CI/CD, release engineering, internal cloud platforms, and productivity tooling.
• Own and operate core infrastructure services such as identity and access management (Keycloak, FreeIPA), VPN, NetBox/IPAM, internal DNS, and cloud networking.
• Drive the evolution of scalable developer platforms and CI/CD pipelines to improve engineering velocity and deployment safety.
• Champion infrastructure‑as‑code, automation frameworks, and AI‑assisted operational tooling.
• Define and enforce multi‑cloud strategy, standardization, and operational best practices across cloud providers.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, IT, and Product leadership to modernize platform capabilities and standardize workflows.

Required profile

• Deeply technical engineering leader with experience building and operating large‑scale platform and infrastructure systems.
• Proven ability to drive long‑term platform strategy, mentor engineering teams, and solve complex architectural and operational challenges.
• Passion for AI‑driven automation and modernizing infrastructure operations.
