Material Handler – Airport Operations

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to support mail and cargo operations at our airport facility. The role ensures safety standards are met while efficiently loading, unloading, and organizing mail shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain QAS and customer safety standards throughout all activities.
• Safely load, unload, build up, and break down mail containers following established guidelines.
• Protect mail from weather, damage, and vandalism.
• Operate certified equipment and complete all required training classes.
• Identify mail that does not meet USPS or QAS guidelines.
• Organize mail in the warehouse according to the base storage plan.
• Verify shipment pieces, weight, dimensions, and airworthiness upon receipt and delivery.
• Obtain proper mail scanning for all destinations.
• Maintain a clean work area during and at the end of each shift.
• Perform additional duties assigned by QAS management.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Pass all background, clearance, airport badging, and pre‑employment drug screening requirements.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift/move up to 55 lb, and climb heights of 15 ft.
• Full range of vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception).
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and noisy environments.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
