Process Engineer – Bodymaker (Front End Specialist)

About the role

The Front End Specialist supports Ball's Regional Process Support Group by overseeing installations, audits, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement of front‑end equipment in aluminium packaging plants across Europe and Asia. Acting as the subject‑matter expert for Body Makers and Trimmers, you will ensure optimal performance and reliability of these critical machines.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for projects, overhauls, and capital‑investment requests.
• Generate detailed site‑visit reports and communicate findings to managers.
• Conduct maintenance, audits, set‑ups, and troubleshooting for Body Makers and Trimmers.
• Develop and deliver training for plant and central staff at all levels.
• Collaborate with equipment suppliers/OEMs and create practical SOPs.
• Maintain strong relationships with plants and suppliers, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Be on standby for emergency breakdowns and travel on short notice.

Required profile

• ONC or Mechanical Engineering degree.
• 3‑5 years hands‑on experience with Body Makers or similar front‑end equipment.
• Ability to manage small projects or teams.
• Self‑motivated, self‑managing, and able to work weekends when required.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Strong written and spoken English.
