About the role
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Security Guard to ensure the safety and physical integrity of the UN House premises, its staff, visitors, and assets. The role involves continuous monitoring, access control, and night‑shift patrols to maintain a secure environment.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor the overall security situation around the UN House by staying on designated security posts.
- Operate and review surveillance camera feeds and related security equipment.
- Conduct night‑shift patrols, walking through the building, corridors, and entrances to detect and deter security incidents.
- Enforce access‑control procedures for UN personnel, visitors, service providers, and vehicles.
- Guard entry points, permitting or refusing access and restraining trespassers when necessary.
- Protect property by monitoring and controlling access to the premises and surrounding territory.
Required profile
- Prior experience in security, guard duties, or related fields.
- Ability to work night shifts and remain vigilant for extended periods.
- Strong observational skills and the capacity to respond promptly to security incidents.
- Good communication skills for interacting with staff, visitors, and service providers.
Required skills
- Operation of surveillance camera systems.
- Use of access‑control hardware and software.
