Senior Data Engineer, AI

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with AI expertise to bridge the gap between data‑science experimentation and production‑grade systems for an insurance client. You will turn AI models and prompts into reliable, scalable services that integrate with business workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI workflows that combine models, prompts, enterprise data, tools and business logic.
• Develop and maintain prompt‑engineering strategies, including versioning, testing and optimisation.
• Build orchestration layers for multi‑step reasoning, decisioning and action execution.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise APIs, systems and user interfaces.
• Apply guardrails to ensure safe, explainable and compliant AI behaviour.
• Create and operate production‑grade AI deployment pipelines with focus on reliability, latency and cost efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, observability and drift detection for AI services.
• Establish change‑control, versioning, rollback and release‑management practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, actuaries and business stakeholders to validate model outputs.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or AI engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MLOps practices and tools.
• Proficiency in machine‑learning concepts and model lifecycle management.
• Advanced programming skills in Python.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI solutions and prompt engineering.
• Solid SQL and data‑manipulation expertise.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with monitoring, observability and governance for AI systems.
• Excellent communication skills in English (B2+).
