Senior Rust Developer

About the role

EPAM is looking for a Senior Rust Developer to build and maintain a Rust‑based SDK that enables client applications to communicate securely with backend services via gRPC. The role supports mobile apps, game engines, and other client environments within an educational technology ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a Rust SDK for gRPC communication with backend platforms.
• Create clear, stable, and well‑documented public interfaces for client developers.
• Implement secure, efficient networking, authentication, error handling, retries, and request lifecycle management.
• Support integration of the SDK into mobile applications, game engines, and other client environments.
• Collaborate with backend, mobile, web, game, and product teams to define integration requirements and technical contracts.
• Contribute to protocol design, versioning, compatibility testing, and release processes.
• Improve developer experience through documentation, examples, automated tests, and integration guidance.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on production experience with Rust.
• Proven experience building or integrating gRPC‑based services or clients.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, networking, and secure communication patterns.
• Experience designing reusable libraries or SDKs and writing maintainable, well‑tested production code.
• Upper‑Intermediate English proficiency (B2) or higher.
