Software Engineering Manager (Python)

About the role

We are seeking a people‑first Software Engineering Manager with strong Python expertise to lead and grow a high‑performing engineering team. The role balances people management with technical leadership, ensuring delivery excellence while developing engineers' careers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate a team of 5+ engineers, creating personal development plans and clear career paths.
• Plan resources, define hiring needs, recruit new talent and establish a robust onboarding process.
• Develop Python competency across the team, define required skills, and organize training through EPAM L&D.
• Maintain client relationships, set project schedules, prioritize work and ensure timely resolution of issues and defects.
• Collaborate with developers on requirements, review deliverables and uphold engineering standards.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience with Python.
• Proven experience managing a team of 5+ engineers and handling people‑management challenges.
• Strong leadership, communication skills and solid knowledge of project management practices.
• English level B2 or higher, spoken and written.
