System Administrator II – IT Infrastructure

About the role

GDIT is seeking a System Administrator II to design, maintain, and operate small to medium networks for government customers. The role supports the transformation of technology into opportunity, ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Manage functionality and efficiency of computer groups across multiple operating systems.
• Provide routine technical support for networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.
• Troubleshoot system hardware and software issues.
• Ensure performance and security of computers meet user needs.
• Maintain workflows, configure, and operate computer systems, including network issue resolution and equipment updates.
• Assist with hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with standards.

Required profile

• AA/AS degree or equivalent; Azure Administrator and security certifications preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in network design, maintenance, and operation.
• Intermediate experience analyzing and troubleshooting military networks.
• Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Required skills

• Networks, software installations, troubleshooting.
• Microsoft Enterprise Server 2008/2012+, Windows OS, Exchange 2010/2013+, Active Directory 2008/2012+.
• DHCP, DNS, WINS, Domain Controllers, mail, printer, and web servers.
• Hardware repair for servers, PCs, peripherals.
• Security+, MCSA – Server, CCNA (or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M certifications).
