Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a global technology manufacturer’s data team in Ampang. You will work with cutting‑edge data technologies to build scalable solutions that support manufacturing and operational analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data models for manufacturing and operational data.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark and SQL.
• Create analytics‑ready datasets and business‑focused data products.
• Implement data quality controls and governance measures.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and analytics stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Document data architecture, transformation logic and business rules.
• Optimize database and query performance across large‑scale datasets.
• Support the implementation of modern data platform and lakehouse technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics.
• Hands‑on experience with SQL, Python and PySpark.
• Experience with large‑scale data platforms, data warehouses and lakehouse technologies.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT development and data pipeline best practices.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and data modeling is a plus.
• Exposure to manufacturing, industrial or semiconductor environments is advantageous.
