Academic Operations Manager (maternity cover)

About the role

The Academic Operations Manager (AOM) provides operational and administrative support to the Graduate School of Development, ensuring continuity of services during a maternity cover period. Based in the GSD Bishkek office, the AOM reports to the Dean and works closely with university‑wide professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Academic Operations Office, managing workload allocation, coaching and performance management.
• Coordinate annual operational plans, budgets, forecasts and procurement plans in collaboration with unit leaders and Finance.
• Oversee postgraduate programme administration, including scheduling, records, student communications and quality processes.
• Provide administrative support for research projects, grants and external collaborations, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, appraisal and staff development processes in partnership with HR.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Substantial experience in academic or research operations, team management and service improvement.
• Strong background in budget coordination, financial reporting and grant administration.
• Excellent organisational judgement, problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Russian.
