Akamai Security Expert

About the role

We are looking for an Akamai Security Expert to strengthen the security of our eCommerce platforms. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for Akamai’s security suite, ensuring robust protection against bots, DDoS attacks, and application‑layer threats.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for Akamai Bot Manager, Web Application Protector (WAP) and DDoS protection.
• Configure and optimise Akamai CDN rules and security settings to meet business and application requirements.
• Analyse security threats across the eCommerce landscape and develop mitigation and incident‑response procedures.
• Continuously improve bot detection, rate‑limiting, edge security policies and custom rule sets.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices.
• Provide documentation, training and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in Akamai CDN services with a focus on security solutions.
• Strong experience in bot detection, mitigation, DDoS protection and application‑layer security.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
• Nice to have: Akamai certification(s), experience in PCI‑DSS or GDPR regulated environments, and collaboration with development, QA and DevOps teams.
