Capacity Building & Institutional Development Specialist

About the role

The Capacity Building & Institutional Development Specialist will work in the Kyrgyz Republic (Kemin and Shopokov) to strengthen the water and wastewater sector. The role focuses on improving infrastructure, enhancing environmental management, boosting operational performance, and advancing institutional capacities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects.
• Facilitate environmental management practices and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Enhance operational performance of water utilities through process optimisation and capacity‑building activities.
• Develop and implement institutional development strategies, including training programmes and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and stakeholders to align project objectives.
• Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and produce technical and analytical reports.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Public Administration, Industrial Engineering, Education or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in capacity building and institutional development, preferably within the water and wastewater sector.
• Fluency in English and Russian.
