Technical Expert – Water & Wastewater Sector (Kyrgyzstan)

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Expert to support operational performance improvement, infrastructure management, service optimisation and technical reform initiatives within the water and wastewater sector of the Kyrgyz Republic. The position is based in Kemin and Shopokov and will run for approximately 36 months on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and monitor operational performance improvement activities for water and wastewater services.
• Oversee infrastructure management and ensure effective maintenance of assets.
• Drive service optimisation and technical reform initiatives in collaboration with public utilities.
• Prepare analytical reports and technical documentation for stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on IFI‑financed projects and ensure compliance with financing requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of technical management experience in the water and wastewater sector.
• Proven experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Previous involvement in IFI‑financed assignments is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and technical reporting skills.
• Experience working with public utility companies is an asset.
