Energy/Electricity Power Generation Expert

About the role

The Energy/Electricity Power Generation Expert will support a donor‑funded road transport decarbonisation initiative across Central Asia. The role focuses on designing and integrating power generation solutions within a comprehensive Road Transport Climate Strategy and Action Plan. The expert will work closely with A+S Consult GmbH’s multidisciplinary team to ensure sustainable operation of complex energy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical planning and design of electricity generation systems for transport‑related projects.
• Develop and validate climate‑aligned power generation components of the Road Transport Climate Strategy.
• Provide implementation management and capacity‑building support to local institutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, grid integration analyses and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with donor agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, data visualisations and recommendations for policy makers.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in power generation or electricity engineering.
• Proven experience in donor‑funded or international development projects.
• Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and grid integration.
• Ability to work in Central Asian contexts (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan).
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
