Interim Accountant – German Entities (4‑8 months)

About the role

An international organisation needs an interim accountant to take full ownership of its German legal entities. The assignment is initially 4‑8 months with an immediate start and the possibility of a longer‑term placement. The role operates in a hybrid model, combining on‑site work with remote flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting for German legal entities.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare statutory financial statements under HGB.
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Perform bank reconciliations, accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Handle invoicing, cost allocations and general‑ledger postings.
• Assist in setting up accounting for new legal entities.
• Collaborate with international finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of accounting experience focused on German finance functions.
• Native German speaker with fluent business English.
• Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB).
• Hands‑on, proactive mindset with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in an international environment.
