Programme Analyst – UN Women, Bishkek

About the role

The Programme Analyst will support UN Women’s mission in Kyrgyzstan by contributing to the design, implementation, and monitoring of gender‑focused programmes. Based in Bishkek, the role works closely with the Country Office team, government partners and civil‑society organisations to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and operationalisation of programme work plans, budgets and results frameworks.
• Collect, analyse and report on programme data, ensuring compliance with UN Women monitoring and evaluation standards.
• Prepare briefing notes, policy briefs and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support coordination of multi‑stakeholder events, workshops and capacity‑building activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of donor reports and proposals, tracking progress against commitments.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, international development, gender studies or a related field.
• Relevant experience (typically 3‑5 years) in programme management, monitoring and evaluation, or policy analysis.
• Demonstrated knowledge of gender equality frameworks, UN Women policies and the UN development system.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency in data collection and basic statistical analysis.
• Experience with project management tools and reporting software.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken); knowledge of Kyrgyz or Russian is an asset.
