Senior HR Business Partner – Short‑Term (4‑month contract)

About the role

The Senior HR Business Partner will support JSI’s international, donor‑funded portfolio, providing HR expertise across the employee lifecycle. This short‑term (four‑month) assignment reports to the Global People Officer and works virtually from any JSI‑registered location.

Key responsibilities

• Advise country leaders and local HR teams on urgent personnel, performance and labor‑relations issues, ensuring compliance with donor and local regulations.
• Lead or coordinate global HR Incident Response Teams to resolve sensitive workplace incidents confidentially and in line with policy.
• Oversee transactional HR activities for project staff and expatriates, guaranteeing operational continuity.
• Partner with proposal teams to draft staffing components for new business development bids, sourcing and vetting key personnel.
• Mentor local HR staff on standardized lifecycle processes and international labor standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Health, Organizational Psychology or related field; HR certification (SHRM‑SCP, SPHR) or Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive international HR experience, including leadership and donor‑funded project work (USAID, Gates Foundation, CDC).
• Demonstrated ability to manage the full talent lifecycle and resolve complex employee‑relations matters.
• Fluent English with strong written and oral communication; additional language (French, Spanish, Portuguese) a plus.
