International Remote Bassa Interpreter

About the role

Language Services Associates (LSA) is looking for an internationally based, telephonic interpreter fluent in Bassa to join its network of independently contracted interpreters. You will handle telephone calls on demand and facilitate communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community across a variety of settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
• Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
• Provide superior customer service
• Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct, including strict confidentiality
• Follow all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry best practices

Required profile

• Full fluency in both English and Bassa
• 1+ year of professional interpreting experience preferred
• Industry-specific certifications or training preferred (e.g., CMI, CCHI, Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural)
• A quiet, secure interpreting space free from outside noise
