Maintenance Manager – Plant Operations

About the role

The Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance activities at the plant, ensuring equipment reliability, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position oversees proactive maintenance programs, storeroom parts management, budgeting, and a team of hourly maintenance staff while coordinating external contractors and facility upkeep.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and support staff.
• Implement proactive maintenance strategies and reliability engineering principles to maximize equipment uptime.
• Drive breakdown elimination initiatives and propose replacement plans for aging or high‑risk equipment.
• Develop and manage the maintenance budget, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee storeroom operations, maintain optimal spare‑parts inventory, and utilize CMMS for tracking and reordering.
• Ensure grounds and facility maintenance meet safety, regulatory, and environmental standards, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Coordinate external contractors, negotiate service contracts, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with plant management, production, and engineering teams to align maintenance activities with operational goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in an industrial or production environment.
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, and cost control.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and change‑management skills.
• Ability to work on‑site and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced plant.
