Packaging Artisan

About the role

We are looking for a Packaging Artisan to keep our production equipment running at peak performance. The role focuses on maintaining packaging line machinery in “as‑new” condition, ensuring reliability through inspections, corrective actions, and root‑cause problem solving.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with health, safety, environmental procedures and legislation.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping standards and identify unsafe practices.
• Conduct safety inspections and audit maintenance practices.
• Adhere to PPE policies and keep maintenance tools in good working order.
• Locate plant equipment, spares and documentation; plan and prepare jobs.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Operate workshop equipment safely.
• Coach operators on correct equipment use and autonomous operation.
• Generate work tags, manage backlog and ensure no re‑work for satisfied customers.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1‑2 years experience as an Artisan in a similar industry.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• People‑handling and coaching skills.
• Mental alertness and conceptual thinking.
• Subject‑matter expertise in engineering maintenance.
