Product Engineer

About the role

Bolter is building an AI‑agent platform that lets users describe work in plain language and have autonomous agents execute it end‑to‑end. As a Product Engineer you will own the full product lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to production, shaping the core experience of building, steering and deploying these agents.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the agent runtime pipeline that transforms natural‑language descriptions into reliable, context‑aware agents.
• Build the workspace where users monitor, direct and trust their agents, and develop the infrastructure that enables agents to generate shareable applications such as trackers and dashboards.
• Define and own the reliability layer, including evaluation, error handling and systems that ensure agent output is production‑ready.
• Set the technical roadmap across the three domains, making architecture decisions that balance speed, cost, reliability and the division of work between AI and humans.
• Rapidly ship prototypes, iterate based on validation feedback and harden successful solutions for scale.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools to amplify development efficiency while keeping the team lean.
• Help recruit and shape the early engineering team as the product scales.
• Collaborate closely with the General Manager, influencing both UX and infrastructure decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience shipping production software, preferably as a founding or early‑stage engineer.
• Strong product mindset, caring equally about user experience and code quality.
• Ability to make trade‑off decisions on architecture, performance, cost and reliability.
• Comfort working in a fast‑moving, validation‑stage environment with ambiguous technical direction.
• Excellent communication skills to work directly with leadership and influence product direction.
