Citizen Data National Consultant

About the role

The Department of Economic and Social Affairs is seeking a Citizen Data National Consultant to support the Data4Now initiative. Based in Bishkek, the consultant will work remotely with UN partners and conduct in‑country visits to strengthen civil‑society capacity in data production, use, and monitoring of local SDGs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a draft workplan and curate initial document sets by 1 September 2026.
• Design the structure of a Handbook on Capacity Building for Civil Society and deliver a draft by 30 November 2026.
• Produce the final Handbook, including next‑step recommendations for statistical capacity building.
• Maintain diplomatic communication with country contacts and ensure high‑quality, reader‑friendly reports.
• Collaborate closely with the UNSD project team and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data management, capacity‑building projects, or statistical support for development initiatives.
• Strong methodological expertise and ability to produce concise, well‑structured documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for remote coordination and in‑person stakeholder engagement.
