Shrimp Production & Commissioning Expert

About the role

AquaXperts seeks a hands‑on Shrimp Production & Commissioning Expert to support international shrimp aquaculture projects. The role involves technical assessments, commissioning, biological start‑up, troubleshooting and operational improvement on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical and operational assessments of shrimp farming facilities.
• Lead pre‑commissioning, commissioning and biological start‑up, including readiness checks before stocking.
• Manage water preparation, system maturation, stocking, transfers, biomass and feeding strategies.
• Monitor water quality, animal performance, biosecurity and production KPIs.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation issues and coordinate corrective actions with engineers and contractors.
• Develop commissioning checklists, punch lists, production plans and SOPs, and prepare technical reports.
• Train and provide technical support to farm personnel during critical project phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial shrimp farming (Litopenaeus vannamei) in intensive or super‑intensive systems.
• Hands‑on experience with RAS, biofloc, low‑exchange or other controlled land‑based shrimp systems.
• Strong knowledge of water quality, feeding, biomass management, animal health, biosecurity and production planning.
• Practical understanding of pumps, piping, filtration, aeration, oxygenation, heating/cooling and water‑treatment equipment.
• Familiarity with sensors, alarms, control panels and basic PLC/control‑system concepts.
• Ability to analyse production data, spot trends and use digital or AI‑assisted tools.
• Professional proficiency in English and willingness to travel internationally.
