Visiting Faculty Member in Communications and Media

About the role

The University of Central Asia is seeking a Visiting Faculty Member to join its Communications and Media programme at the Naryn campus. This short‑term appointment (September 15 – December 31 2026) focuses on delivering undergraduate courses in English and supporting curriculum development.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate classes in communications, media studies, journalism, public relations, and multimedia design.
• Provide individualized academic support to ensure students master course material.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of a new Bachelor‑level Communications and Media curriculum created in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney.
• Maintain an active research agenda related to Central Asian media, law, ethics, and societal issues.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to foster interdisciplinary projects and regional initiatives.

Required profile

• Fluency in English (instruction language).
• Experience teaching communications, media, journalism, or related subjects at the university level.
• Demonstrated research experience in media, communications, or Central Asian studies.
• Ability to engage with students who are also fluent in their native language and Russian.
