Remote Sinhala Interpreter

About the role

As a telephonic interpreter for Sinhala, you will handle inbound calls on demand, providing language support for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals across various settings. This remote position is part of LSA’s network of independently contracted interpreters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting in Sinhala and English.
• Answer inbound calls promptly and deliver superior customer service.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
• Follow all LSA policies, professional interpretation protocols, and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Full fluency in both English and Sinhala.
• At least 1 year of professional interpreting experience (preferred).
• Technology proficiency with web‑based platforms, email, and Microsoft Word.
• A quiet, secure interpreting space free from external noise.
• Relevant industry certifications or trainings (e.g., CMI, CCHI) are a plus.
